Krieghoff Story

Welcome to the family

Krieghoff introduced the K-32 into the American clay target market during the 1960s. For two decades, the K-32 built the foundation of reliability, precise engineering and endurance Krieghoff is known for. In 1980, Krieghoff launched the K-80 competition shotgun, built on the K-32 concept with technological updates and looked towards widening their presence in America. Soon after, Dieter Krieghoff founded Krieghoff International, Inc., and after a 100 year history in Germany, Bucks County, PA became the first (and only) Krieghoff location outside of Europe. From its beginning with a small dedicated staff and dealer network, to its current day operation with dealers located from coast to coast and in Canada, Krieghoff International has established itself as the premier competition shotgun provider in the United States and abroad. Krieghoff International, Inc. is the sole importer and distributor of Krieghoff hunting and sporting arms. As the main service center location, Krieghoff International employs a team of expert gunsmiths and woodsmiths who provide all repairs and services customers may need.

Family-Run Since 1886

Our History

H. Krieghoff GmbH – known worldwide as “Krieghoff” – began as a single vision to build the ideal hunting gun, a Drilling. Krieghoff’s evolution from its 1886 founding as Sempert and Krieghoff to one of the top manufacturers of fine hunting and sporting arms currently spans five generations, each with an innovative eye to the future.

After more than a six decade focus on producing hunting arms, Krieghoff welcomed in the late 1950’s a proposal by an American-German consortium to employ the original Remington Model 32 core design and build a Krieghoff for the competition shotgun market. With their keen innovative sense, the Krieghoff team saw the merits of the design and possibilities that lie ahead and set out to design the Krieghoff Model 32, also called the K-32, for the clay target market.

The birth of the K-32 began a new era for Krieghoff that continues today with the K-80, K-20 and KX-6 Special competition shotgun models.

Reflecting it roots, Krieghoff continues to build and offer hunting arms, such as drillings, rifles including double rifles and shotguns including a bespoke line of true sidelock arms.

“More than one hundred and thirty years of experience has taught us that the best ideas for innovation and improvement in our products come from the people who know them best – the hunters and shooters.”
